Werribee Theatre Company
Allo Allo
Hello all,
Following on from a very successful production of Month of Sundays, Werribee Theatre Company is planning to produce the classic British comedy ‘Allo Allo’, for performance next May. Rehearsals would start late January so we thought it would be a great idea to have a pre-production reading for anyone who is interested in being part of the play in any way. It is quite a big cast so plenty of oppurtunities for you to be involved.
We are holding this reading on:
Monday 29th November in the Wyndham Cultural Centre Green Room at 7.30pm.
If you are able to come along give the Director Alaine (9742 3068) or Alan (0414264783) a ring or contact us thru the website.
Would look forward to seeing you then.

The recent production of “Norm and Ahmed” by Alex Buzo, directed by Alex Pinder, which was rehearsed at our Wyndham Art Works precinct for a season at La Mama Theatre, Carlton, was a great success.
Geoffrey Williams wrote in his review for “Stage Whispers”:
…Anyone who wants to know anything about playwriting, directing, acting and designing has until August 15 to get themselves to La Mama and see this brilliant account of Mr Buzo’s (a national treasure, surely) faultless first play.
…Mr Pinder’s direction of it is absolutely beautiful in its stark and pure textual complicity. Peter Finlay (Norm) and Kevin Ponniah (Ahmed) deliver two of the most accomplished, tour de force performances in recent memory, and one has no choice but to forgive them their opening night nerves in front of a capacity house – bursting at the seams – for this rare and historic occasion.
…In Mr Finlay’s hands … the immensely complex ‘Norm’ is in a craftsman’s hands. At times, through a most incredible vocal and emotional range, it was never entirely clear if Norm was going to kiss Ahmed or kill him. Norm’s vulnerability, his fear, his hatred and his quintessential Australian suspicion are all beautifully realised in this stunning performance.
…For anyone even remotely interested in the art of acting, this is what it looks and feels like. As Ahmed, Mr Ponniah is all wide-eyed wonderment and naivety – layered with a sense of genuine eagerness to be accepted by his marvelously engaging new-found friend. Mr Ponniah’s complete command of Mr Buzo’s dialogue was superb – and the audience loved it. The shouts and cheers at the end of the performance, with curtain calls which one sensed could have gone on all night, were entirely well-deserved
In September 2010 rehearsals for another professional theatre production, produced by Larrikin Ensemble Theatre, to be showcased at La Mama Theatre, Carlton, start at Wyndham Art Works:
“Foxholes of the Mind” by Bernard Clancy
is a dramatic stage play about PTSD which takes you on a roller-coaster ride with a Vietnam veteran and his wife 30 years after the war…
“Frank” and his mates are cracking under the strain of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. “Trish” is treading on eggshells, but it’s not her feet which are bleeding, but her heart - maybe fatally. And then there’s the kids … and others. The ripple effect rolls out, rocking all before it.
“Foxholes” is not just drama – it is laced with black, Aussie Digger humor, just like it was, all those years ago. Whatever happened?
Foxholes of the Mind is the work of Vietnam veteran Bernard Clancy, who has also written extensively on the Vietnam War, including the acclaimed novel, Best We Forget.
Directed by Wolf Heidecker and performed by renowned actors Peter Finlay, Joanne Davis, Ian Rooney, Sean Kavanagh and Claudia Clark (Stage Manager Canada White), this play is a MUST SEE for anyone who has had the “black dog” of PTSD descend on their lives in any way, particularly vets and their families.
The 2009 Year of Theatre was fantastic.
I was able to attend a few of Wolf Heidecker’s fantastic productions.
The Trial of Adolf Eichmann / The Trial of God,
The Trial of Adolf Eichman/ Buenos Aries 1961, and the ‘Cheief Executioner’ – Adolf Eichmann – is captured an extradited to Israel. He pleads ‘Not Guilty’ to being the person responsible for the ‘Final Solution to the Jewish Problem’. Kita Altman & Arnold Erlanger, Auschwitz survivors.
A very powerful and emotional Production, it really left you thinking?
Unknown to some viewers Kita was in the audience, I had the pleasure of meeting her and thanking her for sharing her Life with us.”We think we got Problems” If people can survive under those unbelievable condition”
They are an inspiration.
The Trial Of God – Directed by Wolf Heidecker,
Elie Wiesel a Noble – prize winner, was inspired to write this play by an event he witnessed as a boy in Auschwitz, where 3 rabbis decided to indict God for allowing his children to be massacred.
It dose leave you to wonder and question really
“Who is the Guilty Party here” , God or Man Kind?
Who is right? Who is Wrong?
Trio by Dina Ross – Producer Wolf Heidecker
Well done, I person played the 3 caricatures.
“All musical people seem happy. It is to them……the only innocent
and unpunished passion.”
Silence – Director Wolf Heidecker
Three women, three generations, three life experiences – as individual as universal.
Though enveloped in Vietnamese culture – Silence is not just an ‘ethnic’ play; though told from a female point of view – it is not a ‘feminist’ statement; though referring to Buddhist philosophy, it’s not just about a belief system. Silence is full of humanity, despite the secrets and denial. Resilience through love and care. You don’t have to be a migrant or refugee to relate to the story.
If people only knew what ‘LOVE’ can conquer / not what ” HATE can produce
Fusion Downunder - Play writer Graham Pitt
Wolf Heidecker was “Executive Producer” on behalf of Many Moons Group and Bengal.
